The event, which is organised by the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust in conjunction with Chelsea Football Club, will be a virtual one this time because of government restrictions owing to the global pandemic. It will raise funds for our next-door neighbours Stoll, who provide supported housing for vulnerable and disabled veterans and dependants from all three armed forces.
Stoll, based in the Oswald Stoll mansions adjacent to Stamford Bridge, work with approximately 500 individuals each year. They address a wide range of barriers to independence, and ensure they are securely housed and their health needs, including emotional wellbeing and mental health, are being addressed effectively. Over half of the veterans Stoll works with suffer from one or more mental health conditions; of this group, over half have a diagnosis of PTSD.
The virtual nature of the event this year means you can choose where you sleep. Any Chelsea fan can take part regardless of your age or location, and families can get involved too. All money raised on the night will go to a wonderful homeless and support charity, and there are plans for some special guests to get involved via a live stream.
