Mount is hoping to join an elite group of players to have the chance to lift the European Championship having already won the Champions League and doesn’t want to let such a massive opportunity pass by.
However, the midfielder knows there will be two players he knows well in the Italy camp – Jorginho and Emerson – hoping for the same end result for themselves and Mount believes his Chelsea midfield partner Jorginho in particular is someone England will need to watch out for.
‘We know how difficult it will be against Italy,’ added Mount. ‘You see the run they have been on, and it is 30-something games unbeaten. You know how strong they are from the back, two centre-backs, warriors, and you see how passionate they are.
‘Jorginho is a really good player and I appreciate him a lot, because I’m playing with him. He’s very good on the ball and gets the team ticking. Playing with him and knowing what he’s like, and training with him – I know a lot more about him than some of the other boys who are in the group, so I can give a few tips about what he’s strong at.
