Kerr becomes Matildas’ all-time leading goalscorer

Australia fell behind early on, but Kerr pulled her side level on 17 minutes when she slotted home from an acute angle.

Kerr has gone down in history and is now the Matildas’ all-time leading goalscorer with 48 goals. The Blues striker is just two goals behind fellow Aussie Tim Cahill in the scoring charts for Australia.

Her goal, however, wasn’t enough to secure bronze as USA ran out 4-3 winners, but it’s been an impressive tournament for Kerr.

The striker netted five goals in five games in Tokyo and our No.20 will be hoping for much more of the same when she returns to Chelsea ahead of our 2021/22 campaign.
