Real Madrid to Complete the Signing of Highly Rated Valencia Youngster in €500k Deal

Real Madrid are to sign Valencia youngster Rafa Mir this January for a fee of just €500,000 in what could be a bargain.

The striker has been killing it for the club’s B Team, scoring 15 goals in 19 league appearances, and was present to watch Real Madrid’s recent El Clasico defeat to Barcelona at the Bernabeu, as was Vinicius Junior, who was making the most of some time off by watching the team he will join later this year.

Celtic v Valencia - UEFA Youth Champions League

Mir has been involved with the Valencia first team before, back when Nuno Espirito Santo was manager, but his playing opportunities dried up at the Mestalla and he failed to progress in the way the club had hoped.

As reported by Football Espana, Mir will now join los Blancos this January, and the idea is for him to spend some time with their Castilla side, before hopefully transitioning into a member of the senior squad.

It would appear Real are attempting to build for the future, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema ageing and Gareth Bale struggling a lot with injuries.

In recent years Florentino Perez has facilitated moves for the likes of Martin Odegaard, who has been loaned out to Heerenveen, and Brazilian Junior, who is to join up in late 2018 following his £38m move from Flamengo, and Marco Asensio, who is a full fledged senior squad member after a rapid rise.

Madrid are currently struggling in La Liga and sit fourth a whopping 14 points behind leaders Barcelona, who were supposed to struggle with life after Neymar and an early injury to his replacement Ousmane Dembele.

Real Madrid Set to Face Stubborn Resistance From Tottenham for Record Breaking Striker

Spanish outlet Marca are reporting that Real Madrid will make Spurs forward Harry Kane their prime transfer target in 2018, but face stubborn resistance from the North Londoners for his signature.

Los Blancos boss Zinedine Zidane has lauded 24-year-old Kane, whose Boxing Day hat-trick against Southampton broke Alan Shearer’s record for most Premier League goals in a calendar year. Whilst PSG forward Neymar has also been considered, the European champions have made the England man their number one target either in January or in the Summer.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has reportedly set a minimum price of €200m for Kane, with English rivals Manchester City also interested in taking him away. Levy has dealt with Real Madrid however, having sold fellow Spurs stars Luka Modric and Gareth Bale to the Spaniards for a combined £115m in previous summers.

Spurs currently sit fifth in the league, and despite some superb displays in the Champions League this season failure to qualify next season could well lure Kane away as Real look to find a more viable option for the misfiring Karim Benzema.

He not only broke Alan Shearer’s domestic record in 2017, but also outscored every other European striker with an impressive 56 goals in all competitions.

Real Madrid Tipped to ‘Abandon’ Eden Hazard Interest as They Already Have a Star in the Making

Real Madrid are reportedly ready to give up on chasing Chelsea star Eden Hazard, with Marco Asensio expected to now get more opportunity to shine instead.

Real have been linked with Hazard, who is still yet to agree a new contract with Chelsea, for well over a year on and off. Speculation has significantly grown in recent weeks.

But, according to Marca, the reigning European champions are prepared to cool any interest in Hazard to give 21-year-old Asensio a renewed chance to shine.

“Why would we bring in the Belgian if we have Asensio?” is the quote attributed to an unnamed senior board member at the Bernabeu.

Carefully managed so far this season, huge things are expected of the former Real Mallorca youngster and Marca suggest that the 3-0 Clásico loss at the hands of Barcelona shortly before Christmas will serve as a ‘turning point’ for changes in the capital.

Real Madrid v Las Palmas - La Liga

Asensio is therefore in line to become more regular as Zinedine Zidane looks to shake things up and get Real back on track after a mixed first half of the season.

Prioritising the development of Asensio over the Galacticos style capture of Hazard would certainly be in keeping with the club’s evolving transfer policy in recent years – no ‘Galactico’ has been bought since James Rodriguez joined from Monaco in the summer of 2014.

Curiously, the story from Marca states exactly the opposite on the future of Hazard as an ‘exclusive’ claim from The Sun. The British tabloid suggests that Real are preparing a £120m offer for the Belgian, one that would make him one of the most expensive players of all time.

Given the conflicting nature of the stories that emerged around the same time, only one be correct.

Mauro Icardi Reportedly Stalls Over New Inter Deal in the Hope That Real Madrid Come Calling

Inter superstar Mauro Icardi is apparently stalling over a new deal on offer at San Siro, as he waits it out for Real Madrid to come calling.

Los Blancos have been credited with interest in the striker, and are supposedly looking to replace Karim Benzema at the Bernabeu.

As reported by AS, Icardi’s current buy-out clause stands at around €110m, which Madrid would easily be able to afford to pay, which could leave Inter powerless to prevent their talisman from leaving.

His agent Wanda Nara, who also happens to be his wife, is thought to be managing the situation closely, trying to gain her husband some bargaining power for any deal in the offing.

The 24-year-old has been forging a strong reputation over the past few years in Italian football, and is now widely considered one of Europe’s top marksmen.

US Sassuolo v FC Internazionale - Serie A

The Argentinian has hit 88 Serie A goals since his move to the Nerazzurri in 2013, and is leading the way in the goalscoring charts for the current season with 17.

Scarily, Icardi is still a number of years away from his prime, meaning he makes for the ideal kind of target for Madrid.

It is thought that Zinedine Zidane is looking to cash in on fellow countryman Benzema or even Gareth Bale, who is causing frustration at the club with his injury record.

Action! Real Madrid Star Cristiano Ronaldo Reveals What He’d Like to Do After Football

Real Madrid and world footballing star Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed to fellow legend of the game Alessandro del Piero that he would like to make films when he finally calls time on his career.

The 32-year-old’s playing future at Los Blancos continues to come under speculation, with recent reports suggesting the player has been in contact with club president Florentino Perez surrounding the possibility of lowering his release clause in what could be seen as potentially making himself more available in the transfer window.

But one thing that is for certain is the Portugal international’s plans and aspirations when it is time to hang his boots up; making films.

“I’d like to make movies, I have my hotels, my gyms, my clothing line with Nike… I see myself as a business man”, he told Alessandro del Piero in an interview for Sky Italia, which will be published in January, as quoted by Spanish news outlet Marca.

“Right now I am focused on what I am doing, although clearly I know that sooner or later the moment to retire will come.

“My life after football will be beautiful, I’m sure, and I don’t mean with money, but with pleasure of doing other things.”

During the conversation with the former Italian striker, Ronaldo also reflected on the past, revealing when deciding to join Manchester United from Sporting Lisbon back in 2003, he also had the option to sign on the dotted line with Serie A giants Juventus.

“I was happy with the interest of Juventus, because it’s an extraordinary club, but then I decided to go to United”, the five time Balon d’Or-winner continued.

“I liked the Premier League more than Serie A.

“They also spoke of Real Madrid, but I’ve always taken the right decisions thanks to my agent Jorge Mendes.”

Real Madrid Striker Karim Benzema Set for Up to 3 Weeks Out With Hip Injury

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema is set for a spell on the sidelines of up to three weeks after suffering a hip injury, Marca have reported.

The news will come as a setback for Los Blancos coach Zinedine Zidane, who will be short of attacking options for his side’s upcoming fixtures.

Benzema will miss the Copa del Rey double-header with Numancia, a La Liga clash with Celta Vigo, and potentially the games against Villarreal and Deportivo La Coruna.

The Frenchman is believed to have picked up the problem early in last weekend’s Clasico defeat, before being replaced in the second-half following Dani Carvajal’s sending off.

But AS claim that Benzema showed “no sign of discomfort during the game”, and was not injured against Barcelona.

The 30-year-old was reportedly seen in “perfect health” as Real Madrid’s players departed for a winter break in Dubai last week.

Benzema’s injury came as Los Blancos made a return to training ahead of their return to competitive football next month.

Some have suggested that he was simply attempting to avoid training in front of the club’s fans, many of whom have expressed their distaste over Benzema’s form in recent weeks.

But confirmation from Real Madrid’s website debunks such claims, leaving Zidane with a dilemma as to who to select as his attacking focal point in the coming weeks.

Los Blancos currently sit in fourth place in La Liga, 14 points behind leaders Barcelona after their 3-0 defeat at the Bernabeu.

Man Utd & PSG Alerted as Real Madrid Superstar Cristiano Ronaldo Reportedly Asks for €100m Departure

Manchester United could be poised to make a stunning move for their former star Cristiano Ronaldo, after the Real Madrid ace is rumoured to have asked the club to set his asking price at €100m.

The Portuguese international has a staggering €1bn release clause, but is hoping that he can convince the club to allow him to leave for a fraction of this amount.

As reported by Duncan Castles of the Daily Record, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has put the feelers out to both United and Paris Saint-Germain, as his relationship with Los Blancos’ president Florentino Perez is rumoured to have sunk to an all-time low – where Ronaldo has ceased all communication with Perez.

Such were the heights of greatness achieved by the 32-year-old during his nine seasons with Real Madrid, his relatively mediocre performances this season have drawn significant scrutiny from fans and pundits alike.

The former Sporting CP ace has scored just four goals in 12 La Liga games – when his end-of-season tally has hit over 25 throughout his spell in Madrid.

Manchester United sold Ronaldo to Real in 2009, for a then-world record £80m. Since joining the club, Ronaldo has gone from strength to strength – scoring an eye-watering 422 goals in 416 appearances. However, after a tax dispute last summer, Ronaldo’s fondness for Spain appears to have soured, and a move back to the Premier League could well be on the cards.

During his time in La Liga, Ronaldo has won a host of trophies and personal accolades. The Madeira-born star has won two league titles and three Champions Leagues with Real, as well as two Copas Del Rey.

Chelsea Ace Alvaro Morata Hits Back at Claims He Rejected Spurs Move Due to Harry Kane Competition

Chelsea striker Álvaro Morata has moved to quash claims that he turned down a move to Spurs because of the competition he would have faced from their star striker Harry Kane.

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino appeared to aggravate the Spanish international, by claiming he turned down Spurs in 2015 due to Kane’s emergence in the side.

In an interview with Sky Sports, Morata was asked whether Pochettino’s comments from earlier in the season were true – to which the 25-year-old denied he making the statement.

Morata said: “No it’s not true. I spoke with him and he said he wanted both [of us] to play together, but there was no chance to come to Tottenham.

“For sure I would like to play with Kane, he’s a big player, one of the best strikers in the world, but in this moment when I spoke with him [Pochettino]. There was no chance to leave Real Madrid.”

Morata has enjoyed a positive start to his career at Chelsea, having joined the Blues for a club record £55m from Real Madrid in the summer. Since making the switch to Stamford Bridge, Morata has scored ten goals and contributed four assists in his first 17 Premier League games for Antonio Conte’s side.

Chelsea are looking like they won’t be able to retain their Premier League title this season, as Manchester City have stormed 15 points clear at the top of the table as the season hits its midway point. The Blues will now be aiming to secure a top four finish, as the race for Champions League football begins to heat up.

Roberto Carlos Claims Incoming Real Madrid Starlet Vinicius Will Become an ‘Idol’ at the Bernabeu

Former Real Madrid star Roberto Carlos has been raving about his young countryman Vinicius, who is set to join Los Blancos at the end of the season.

The 17-year-old attacker, currently playing with Flamengo in Brazil, is one of the most highly-rated teenagers in South America and has drawn several comparisms to compatriot Neymar.

Despite his tender age, Vinicius will cost Real at least €40m, but they have no qualms over paying such an amount for a kid, as there were several clubs willing to meet the teenager’s €30m release clause.

Speaking after a charity match he organised in Sao Paulo, Carlos gave a glowing review of the youngster – who he met prior to El Clasico – insisting that he will become an ‘icon’ at Madrid in time to come.

“I was with his family before El Clasico and they’re all very humble,” he said, via Marca“He knows that playing at Real Madrid is not going to be easy because the [Estadio Santiago] Bernabeu is very big and the fans demand a lot.

“Being a Real player must be a source of great pride for him, but now he has a greater responsibility to improve day by day.

“I wish him luck and I’m sure he will be an idol at the club soon enough.”

“I won’t say that he’s ready yet because he’s still very young,” he continued. “But what Real Madrid did in thinking about the future of the club…I think it was a perfect move.”
