Inter Captain Mauro Icardi Claims He Will Remain With Nerazzurri for the Rest of His Career

Mauro Icardi has no intention to leave Inter and has claimed that he intends to remain with the Milan outfit until they let him go.

The Argentine superstar has had a wonderful start of the season with the Nerazzurri, is the top Serie A goalscorer – 15 nets in 14 matches – and had led his side to a well-deserved second place in the league behind Napoli.

As Inter welcome Chievo at San Siro on Sunday night, Icardi has got just another chance to drag his men forward: winning the match would take them one point above Napoli and Juventus and make them table leaders.

He is also close to becoming the sixth player to score 100 goals in Serie A before turning 25, and the chances are pretty high considering that his birthday falls in February.

Following this brilliant ensemble of performances, he is now number one target for La Liga giants Real Madrid, who have been trying to approach him in the past few weeks.

However, Icardi, who has only recently refound a good relationship with his fans, has denied Los Blancos any chance to land him.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, he told his friends: “If they don’t kick me out, I’m staying at Inter for the rest of my career.”

The Argentine is currently holding talks with the Inter chiefs to extend his contract with the club to 2023.

Negotiations reportedly include a raise of the salary €7m-per-year and the chance to either increase or completely remove his €100m break clause.

Real Madrid to Bring Vinicius Junior Over From Brazil at First Opportunity in Summer 2018

Real Madrid have reportedly decided to take teenage sensation Vinicius Junior over to Spain from Brazil at the first opportunity in summer, rather than leaving him at home a little while longer to continue developing with Flamengo.

Real struck a big money deal with Vinicius in May when he was still only 16 years of age. Due to international transfer laws, Los Blancos cannot take him to Madrid until after he turns 18.

Flamengo v Atletico GO - Brasileirao Series A 2017

With the 2017 Brazilian season almost at a close, there was an option to let Flamengo keep him for one more season, which would have seen the player arrive at the Bernabeu in January 2019.

However, a report from AS claims that Real staff are convinced Vinicius is ready to join the first-team in Madrid as soon as possible. His 18th birthday is on 12th July 2018.

It is said that Real are impressed by his ability, confidence and personality. It is also said that having Vincius join the first-team at the end of the season will go at least some way to placating Zinedine Zidane after the coach has been asking for new signings.

Atletico MG v Flamengo - Brasileirao Series A 2017

AS say that Zidane is on board with having Vinicius in the squad and has been tipped to treat the Brazilian in a similar way to how Dani Ceballos has been slowly integrated this season, ensuring that he gains exposure to first-team life and yet still remains suitably protected.

Real’s capture of Vinicius, reported to be worth around €45m, makes him one of the most expensive players in Real history. It raised eyebrows at the time it was agreed and sealed as the player had only made his professional debut for Flamengo 10 days earlier.

He has enjoyed a strong debut season, though, playing 34 times in all competitions.

Sergio Ramos Confirms He’ll Play for Real Madrid on Saturday With a Protective Mask

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has told Real Madrid fans that he will be back in action for Los Blancos when they take on Athletic Bilbao at San Mames on Saturday.

The Spaniard, who had his nose broken whilst playing against Atletico Madrid on November 18, will be wearing a protective mask, however, and he has revealed that he will be playing with said mask for the next three weeks.

His injury, though, does not require surgery, and he does expect to make a full recovery by the end of the year.

“It’s a bit uncomfortable, but I’ve been practicing even the head goals and it leaves me a gap to give the ball in,” he said at a meet and greet with fans during the week (H/T Marca).

“In principle I’ll use it for three weeks, because the fissure this time has been small and the partition has not been damaged, it’s going to need operation.”

Ramos also revealed that he plans to open a museum in a few months, where his trophies, awards and matchday kit will be on display.

Antonio Conte Dismisses ‘Constant’ Press Talk After David Luiz Linked With Real Madrid Move

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has shut down the rumours claiming David Luiz could be on his way to Real Madrid in January, by simply saying he hasn’t paid them any attention.

The Brazilian centre-back is currently sidelined with a knee problem and hasn’t been in the team much since that loss against Roma in the Champions League. But a healthy Luiz would have probably been out anyway, given Andreas Christensen’s confidence and composure at the back.

Conte and Luiz are reported as being unhappy with each other, and that has led to rumours of a January exit. But the Italian manager says he isn’t giving the talk any thought and hasn’t even taken any notice.

Questioned over the links in his press conference on Friday, Conte said: “I must be honest I don’t read it. I don’t have time to read because we are playing every three days. My focus is on the pitch and prepare the team in the right way. As you know this is speculation in this period.

“We pass from my sacking to Real Madrid, we are very fast to pass these situations. My focus is on Chelsea and I am totally committed to Chelsea and the players.”

The Blues will host Newcastle at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, with Rafa Benitez set to visit the London ground for the first time since being replaced by Jose Mourinho in 2013.

And Conte claims that – contrary to certain reports – he shares a good, respectful relationship with the Spaniard.

No, this is not true [that we have a bad relationship],” he declared. “Rafa did a great job in his time with Napoli.

“Then I remember when I was the coach of the national team I went to watch the training session with Napoli and stay with him. He is a good manager and has won a lot with his career. I have a great respect for him.”

Real Madrid Set to Offload Newcastle Target to Prepare the Way for Kepa Arrival

Rafael Benitez target Kiko Casilla will be available in the summer as Real Madrid look to offload the number two goalkeeper.

Benitez was thought to have identified Casilla at the end of last season and was reported to have ‘expressly requested’ his signing, but both Real Madrid and the player were against it.

Marca have since reported that Real Madrid are hoping to sign 23-year-old Kepa Arrizabalaga from Athletic Bilbao to compete with Keylor Navas as the first choice goalkeeper. Consequently, The Spanish giants now want to sell Casilla in order to facilitate a move for the former Spain Under-21 goalkeeper.

With Real Madrid decided on selling their back up goalkeeper it is understood that a deal could materialise quickly – with an outside possibility of Newcastle signing Casilla initially on loan in January with an option to make the move permanent in the summer.

The news outlet also suggest that Benitez’s success with Pepe Reina, and getting the goalkeeper into the national squad regularly, could be a pull for Casilla.

Newcastle face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in their next fixture and will be looking to build on their recent draw against West Bromwich Albion. The Tyneside club’s point against West Brom was the first time that they avoided defeat in November.

Spanish Report Claims Madrid’s Sergio Ramos Is Exerting Dressing Room Influence to Isolate Ronaldo

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos is apparently using his influence in the Bernabeu dressing room to isolate ‘disgruntled’ superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Reports have gathered pace lately that the duo have a frosty relationship at the club, after Ronaldo criticised the club’s transfer policy and Ramos disagreed, amongst other squabbles.

Borussia Dortmund v Real Madrid CF - UEFA Champions League

As reported by Diario Gol, via the Mirror, the Spaniard is now trying to use his status as leader of the dressing room by turning his teammates, namely Gareth Bale and Luka Modric, against the former Manchester United winger.

Ramos apparently wants to secure his status as the most powerful player at the club, and interestingly, the report claims that there are currently three cliques at Real.

The first consists of Ronaldo, Marcelo, Casemiro, Keylor Navas, Raphael Varane and Karim Benzema. The second is made up of Spaniards Ramos, Dani Carvajal, Dani Ceballos, Marco Asensio, Isco, Lucas Vasquez, Nacho Fernandez, Marcos Llorente Jesus Vallejo and Spanish speaker Theo Hernandez.

The smallest faction at the club consists of former Tottenham teammates Gareth Bale and Luka Modric, and also Mateo Kovacic and Toni Kroos, and Ramos is targeting the former for his clan, in a subconscious bid to boost his own power and lure them away from Ronaldo.

Ronaldo has struggled to replicate the form he has shown over the last 10+ seasons so far in La Liga this season, and is being linked with a move away from the club – he has already said he won’t sign a new deal at the Bernabeu.

REVEALED: Cristiano Ronaldo’s Stunning Earnings From a Single Instagram Post

Cristiano Ronaldo is accustomed to being the top of pretty much every ranking system he is eligible for and his personal fortune has him as one of the leading earners for a male athlete in the world.

A new study has identified yet another area where Ronaldo comes out on top, as it has been revealed that the Real Madrid star earns a whopping £308,000 for every post he makes on Instagram. Every. Single. One.

The Portugal international has a staggering 116m followers on Instagram, which sees him share photos of his football career, expanding family, and various lucrative sponsorship deals which range from mobile phones and shampoo, to Egyptian Steel companies.

The research by HopperHQ, via Goal, shows Ronaldo as the third highest-paid celebrity in the world from sponsored photos, and the highest-earning male.

Ronaldo was surpassed by pop star Selena Gomez, who earns a healthy £424,000 per post, and Kim Kardashian who collects £385,000 for her daily posts. Whilst the only other sports star on the list was basketball superstar Lebron James, with £92,457.

Whilst Ronaldo’s off-field life is well and truly taken care of, his career on the field has started to return to normal programming as the 32-year-old scored his second league goal against Malaga on Wednesday, taking his tally to four goals in his last five games.

Ronaldo will have the opportunity to add to his goal scoring tally when Real Madrid make the trip to face Athletic Bilbao on the weekend, before returning to Champions League’s league action against Borussia Dortmund in mid-week.

Keylor Navas Adamant He Is Good Enough Despite Growing Speculation Over Real Madrid Goalkeeping Plan

Keylor Navas has publicly defended his place in the Real Madrid side this week, after criticism regarding his recent form, which has led to speculation over his future at the club.

According to reports, Madrid are already close to signing a would-be replacement for the Costa Rican keeper, in the form of Athletic Bilbao’s rising star Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Kepa has impressed since coming through the ranks in the Basque country and has been touted as the future custodian of the national team, with his place in Spain’s upcoming World Cup Squad likely.

Spain v Costa Rica - International Friendly

Ironically, he made his long-awaited debut for La Roja in their 5-0 trouncing of Navas’s Costa Rica, although the 30 year old was absent from the team through a thigh injury.

The 23-year-old star has been unsettled for over a year now, and embroiled in a dispute with Bilbao regarding the intricacies within his current contract. Despite the fact that his current deal with the Basque club is set to expire next summer, it is thought Real are willing to pay the €20m buy-out required to release him in January.

In addition rumours continue to fly surrounding Florentino Perez and Zinedine Zidane’s coveting of Premier League stoppers David de Gea and Thibaut Courtois.

Despite the speculation, Navas has remained upbeat about his future and form in the Spanish capital, if a little pensive, telling Fox Sports (via Marca): “I don’t have to prove anything to anyone.

“I must enjoy my career and being what Real Madrid is, you never know what may happen in the future. But the one that is here is me.”

The 30-year-old former Levante star also confirmed he is still working his way back to full fitness, after sustaining his injury on international duty, declaring: “I feel calm and I don’t feel any pain anymore and that is important.

“I can train to the fullest and be back again at the best level as soon as possible.”

Spanish Prosecutors Accuse Real Madrid Midfielder Luka Modric of Owing Over €800k in Tax

Spanish prosecutors have accused Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric of defrauding tax authorities of €870,728 in 2013 and 2014, Marca have reported.

Prosecutors have claimed that they were informed last month that the Croatia international might have “financial positions” on the Isle of Man.

These were not known by tax authorities and could have had an impact on the total amount of tax Modric paid in Spain.

The 32-year-old’s wife, Vadja, has also been accused of tax irregularities following the revelations.

The Prosecutor’s Office have taken action against Modric just one day after his Real Madrid teammate Marcelo appeared in court as part of another tax case.

The Brazilian full-back is accused of defrauding authorities of €490,917.70 by using companies abroad to handle his earnings from image rights.

Los Blancos are not the only club to have been targeted by Spanish authorities in recent weeks.

Lionel Messi and his father were last year found guilty on three counts of defrauding tax authorities of €4.1m from image rights income.

Cristiano Ronaldo, Ricardo Carvalho, Angel Di Maria, Javier Mascherano, Radamel Falcao and Fabio Coentrao are also under investigation.

Nor is it restricted to players; former Real Madrid and current Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has also found himself embroiled in investigations from Spanish authorities.

Sergio Ramos Tweets Heartfelt Support Following Yet Another Santi Cazorla Injury Setback

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has tweeted his support to Santi Cazorla, after the Arsenal midfielder announced yet another setback in his arduous road to recovery from an ankle injury.

The 32-year-old has not played a game of football since October 2016, and after a failed surgery on his ankle, Cazorla has had to undergo eight more as a result of infection and its inability to heal.

Recently there was good news. It appeared the Spaniard was finally on the road to recovery following one final session under the knife – an instance that required a skin graft, and left part of his tattoo sleeve from his arm being removed, and subsequently placed onto his ankle.

He broke the news via Twitter on Wednesday:

The heartbreaking tweet roughly translates to:

“Some discomfort in the tendon that had dragged the last few days, I have had to undergo surgery. It is delaying the date of return to the playing fields, I maintain the illusion and motivation to enjoy my great passion, soccer. #football”

Cazorla isn’t without the support of fellow teammates, though. Despite receiving a lot of hate for his antics on the pitch, Madrid skipper Ramos has proven that he will always be there for his friends, and Santi is no exception; Ramos tweeting his support also through a tweet:

“Friend, soccer is in debt with you. Head high and cheer up. We’re with you. Lots of encouragement and a strong hug, bro @19SCazorla!”

It now seems like forever since Cazorla grace the pitch, and at one point he was told not to expect to be able to kick a ball again. The Arsenal man’s return still seems far away, and there is no word of when that day will arrive just yet.
