Real Madrid President Reportedly Reaches Agreement With Neymar Over Bernabeu Move

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has reached an agreement with Paris Saint-Germain ace Neymar over a move to the Spanish club after the end of the 2018/19 season.

That is according to Spanish news outlet Diario Gol, who also claim that the Brazilian had already told the French side that he would leave if he doesn’t win the Champions League or Ballon d’Or in two years.

Bayern Muenchen v Paris Saint-Germain - UEFA Champions League

The report goes on to state that, due to poor relations with Unai Emery, Neymar has already decided that he will spend the rest of this season in France, as well as all of next season, before returning to Spain to join Madrid, no matter what happens.

Perez, meanwhile, has been pretty vocal in his admiration for the attacker, who he says would have a better chance to win the Ballon d’Or at Madrid.

“Neymar is a player who, if he were in Real Madrid, would have more facilities to win the Golden Ball,” he is quoted as saying.

“Madrid is a club that gives a big player everything they need to do so. Everyone knows I wanted to sign him.”

The Champions League holders have been after Neymar since his Santos days and made him a huge offer before he joined Barcelona. But the lure of playing alongside Lionel Messi was too great for the player, and it was the one thing Real simply could not bring to the table during negotiations.

Gol also claim that the player’s father has been in talks with Madrid ever since he left the Camp Nou in the summer, however. And if they are to be believed, then a deal has possibly been reached.

Paulo Dybala Contract Extension at Juventus Is Put on Hold Alerting Real Madrid

Paulo Dybala has been given the number 10 shirt this season at Juventus after displaying a spectacular bout of form last year.

Talks of a contract extension for the Argentine at the Old Lady were imminent, however Dybala’s form has dropped in Serie A as well as the Champions League with the forward not registering a goal in the European competition since April.

Juventus v FC Internazionale - Serie A

As a result, Calciomercato report that the Bianconeri have delayed talks of a new contract with the 24-year-old, giving a chance for Champions League holders Real Madrid to swoop in.

With the situation uncertain in Turin, Los Blancos have a chance of buy the attacker at a hefty value of €150m.

However, Juventus have made it clear that they will not accept any offers from any clubs for their star player.

Despite reportedly having a drop in form, Dybala has scored 12 goals and created 22 chances in 15 appearances for the Bianconeri, all while maintaining an 85% passing accuracy average.

Juve are not prepared to put Dybala on the transfer market, but are willing to wait until the Argentine will come back to his original form.

Should he start performing well again, Juventus will reopen talks about a contract extension.

Real Madrid 5-0 Sevilla: Cristiano Ronaldo & Star Teammates Annihilate Guests in Whirlwind Match

Cristiano Ronaldo painted Madrid white on Saturday afternoon as Zinedine Zidane’s men played one of their best games of the season and outclassed visitors Sevilla with a stunning 5-0 win.

Golden man Cristiano Ronaldo bagged a brace for Los Blancos as Nacho, Toni Kroos and Achraf Hakimi all contributed to the scoring in the opening 45 minutes of the match.

The reigning La Liga champions have now distanced Sevilla in the league table and have the same points as second-placed Valencia, who will play on Sunday against Celta Vigo.

Ronaldo looked glowing even before the beginning of the match as he was cheered at Santiago Bernabeu when he showed off the newly-won fifth Ballon d’Or of his career.

Zidane had to make several changes in his defence ranks as Sergio Ramos, Dani Carvajal and Casemiro were all suspended and Raphael Varane picked up an injury early in the week.

But those players’ absence did not seem to affect Los Blancos in the opening moments as Real Madrid broke the deadlock after barely two minutes thanks to one of the men of the day, Nacho.

Seconds earlier Lucas Vazquez had tried to surprise goalkeeper Sergio Rico with a stunning powerful shot from the distance, but the Spaniard pulled away: the resulting corner kick became the assist for Nacho’s goal.

Real Madrid were the only ones to handle the ball at the beginning of the game as newly-returned Jesus Vallejo nearly made it 2-0 with a header in the small box that, however, ended wide above the bar.

Sevilla timidly tried to prove their worth and had their first occasion with Carole, who approached Keylor Navas’ net and kicked towards the farthest post; Real Madrid’s stopper pushed it away.

Ronaldo gave France Football just another proof that he deserves all those five Ballon d’Ors as he doubled the lead for the home side. The Portuguese superstar received just the perfect assist from Marco Asensio and escaped Sevilla defenders until he found the perfect position to kick the ball right inside the box.

As the clock hit the half-hour mark, it was Ronaldo again who was chanted by the Bernabeu as he scored his fourth La Liga goal of the season and first brace by converting a penalty that Marcelo had cleverly earned.

But the Portuguese’s brace almost became a hat trick when he missed just another wonderful chance to net: he looked like an acrobat as he launched a marvellous flying volley that was parred by Rico.

Few words can describe how lethal Real Madrid showed to be after Kroos bagged the team’s fourth goal in less than 40 minutes. The action leading up to it was incredible: the German picked up the ball from the middle of the pitch, ran all the way until the edge of the box, exchanged with Vazquez and shot past Rico with a fantastic first-time shot.

But Los Blancos couldn’t get enough of their sensational form and made it 5-0 before the end of the half as Achraf Hakim became the fourth goalscorer of the match. The 19-year-old became the first Moroccan player to score for Real Madrid in the club’s history.

Real Madrid v Sevilla - La Liga

Despite the humiliation, Sevilla returned from the break with their heads held high and made a few attempts to narrow the gap; Nolito had his first shot on target as he rolled the ball towards Navas, who, however, comfortably picked it up.

The heroics of the first half almost made the second part of the game look too ‘normal’ compared to the expectations as both sides looked less proactive and slower.

This resulted in twenty minutes of good defensive work from each team and sporadic, significant chances the most notable one coming from Benzema. Frenchman hit the woodwork with a header.

Muriel made a weak effort to score for the guests in the last ten minutes of the game, but his shot was too central and Navas had no problem in stopping.

It is fair to say that Los Blancos are fully back on track and are now scarier than ever. Compliments are in order for boss Zidane, who rearranged his team and made it return to glory in a way that no one expected.

Brazilian Legend Pele Gives 2017 Ballon d’Or Winner Cristiano Ronaldo the Best Possible Tribute

Brazilian football icon Pele has given Cristiano Ronaldo one of the greatest tributes possible after the Portuguese star won his fifth Ballon d’Or.

Pele sadly never received football’s greatest personal honour as only European players were able to win the award up until 1995.

In a Tweet from his personal account, Pele said: “Congratulations to Cristiano on winning this year’s Ballon d’Or. I would love to have played on the same side as you!”

In 1999, Pele was named the Football Player of the Century after all the previous Ballon d’Or winners voted in his favour.

Then In 2016, for the 60th anniversary of the Ballon d’Or, France Football reevaluated the winners of the trophy to include South American players. Pele would have won seven golden balls in the alternative rankings, making him the most decorated player of all time.

If Pele had won all those trophies, Ronaldo would still be two behind him having just tied equal with Lionel Messi on five.

The Real Madrid talisman beat off his Barcelona rival and the most expensive player in world football, Neymar.

It has been a monopoly of who is going to win the prestigious award over the last decade, with it going to either Messi or Ronaldo ever time.

” data-viewability=”″ style=””>

25-year-old Neymar looks to be the biggest threat to breaking that trend as both of his competitors enter their 30’s, although Antoine Griezmann came third last year and Kylian Mbappe was the youngest player to ever get into the top 10 this year.

Karim Benzema Confuses Fans With Bizarre Ballon d’Or Tweet Following 25th Place Finish

Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema left his social media followers a tad confused after a tweet he sent out regarding the Ballon d’Or results.

The French striker was listed as the 25th best player in the Ballon d’Or rankings, behind the likes of Kylian Mbappé (Paris Saint-Germain), Sadio Mané (Liverpool) and Falcao (AS Monaco).

When Benzema opted to tweet about the final results, it appears a quick Google Translate didn’t quite give the 29-year-old the right words that he was looking for.

After attempting to decipher what Benzema actually meant, it appears as if he is trying to say everyone outside of the top three is just a random selection of good players across Europe.

One thing that most certainly is not a random selection is that of the French national team.

Having been out of action for Les Bleus for some time now, the president of the French Football Federation, Noël Le Graët, said that the Real Madrid striker won’t be getting back into the national team setup anytime soon.

“You would have to be blind or deaf to not understand that Benzema will be difficult to select right now. It seems to be incontestable to me,” Le Graët told RMC.

“We must also say that there are a number of talented players in attack, so the problem is perhaps less so than a few years ago.

“Deschamps picked him a lot during years when he was not brilliant in the French team.”

Spanish Football Expert Insists Real Madrid Aren’t Looking to Sign Mohamed Salah From Liverpool

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has said that Liverpool hotshot Mohamed Salah isn’t on Real Madrid’s radar at the moment.

The former Chelsea star has been a revelation at Anfield since returning to the Premier League this season. And many, including his national coach Hector Cuper, believe that he could head to Madrid soon.

“I have received information revealing Madrid’s interest in Salah, but there is no rush to things,” Cuper said recently.

Balague, however, disagrees with the notion and has said that Real’s priorities are bringing in a new keeper and another striker.

“At this moment in time I understand Salah is not on Real Madrid’s radar,” he said to Sky Sports“They are looking to bring in goalkeeper Kepa (Arrizabalaga) and a striker once Bale’s future is decided.

“Those two situations need to be sorted before we know exactly what Real Madrid are doing.”

Salah has already scored 19 times for Liverpool this season, and it’s amazing how he could not show such form at Chelsea.

Former Liverpool midfielder turned pundit Danny Murphy reckons that the Egyptian simply did not get a chance to prove his worth at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool FC v Spartak Moskva - UEFA Champions League

“I’d seen him play a few times before he went to Chelsea and liked him a lot,” he told the Daily Star (H/T Express). “Not only his pace, but his close control and awareness. I didn’t know he had this many goals in him or was as comfortable in front of goal.

“He then never got a chance at Chelsea. People say he went there and failed, but you don’t fail if you don’t play and the reason he didn’t play was Willian and [Eden] Hazard.

“It’s the same with [Kevin] De Bruyne. Was he ever going to play instead of [Frank] Lampard? No. Sometimes it takes you going away, playing somewhere else and getting the confidence up even more.”

Former Winner Kaka Shares Hilarious Response to Cristiano Ronaldo’s Ballon d’Or Victory

It was Cristiano Ronaldo’s night once again as he lifted the Ballon d’Or for the fifth time, equalling Lionel Messi’s haul to once again open the gates for a ‘who’s better?’ debate.

The pair have dominated the award over the past 10 years, taking first and second places by a landslide each time round.

Brazil's football player Kaka holds the

Neymar, Manuel Neuer, Xavi, Franck Ribery, Andres Iniesta and Fernando Torres have come up against the legendary duo but failed to take either on, as they have all occupied third place behind both players.

But before the pair took over world football, Brazilian attacking midfielder Kaka was the last to win the award.

The former Milan player was present at the award ceremony, and when asked what he thought about the Portuguese international winning the award, Kaka produced a brilliant response.

European champions AC Milan forward Kaka

“This year is 10 years since I won the Ballon d’Or and every time Cristiano or Messi wins it’s good for me because everyone remembers mine.”

The Milanese legend won the award while at the San Siro, an award that helped him orchestrate a move to Madrid where unfortunately he flopped.

After failing at the Bernabeu, the 35-year-old moved back to Milan for one season before making a switch to Orlando City, where he has since retired.

Picking the Best Potential Real Madrid Lineup to Face Sevilla on Saturday

Real Madrid take on Sevilla on Saturday afternoon in an attempt to close in on the top of the Spanish league table.

With Barcelona currently leading the tournament by eight points, both sides need a win to keep their chances alive.

Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane will have a hard time in picking his defenders as his three key men Sergio Ramos, Dani Carvajal and midfielder Casemiro are all suspended. Here’s who could play, though…

  • Navas

With only three clean sheets in the Spanish league this year, Keylor Navas has a lot to prove on Saturday and will aim at defending his goal as well as possible.

The 30-year-old’s future is subject to debate lately, but this won’t certainly prevent him from performing at his best against Sevilla.

  • Achraf

  • Nacho

  • Vallejo

  • Marcelo

19-year-old Achraf Hakimi could be Zidane’s choice at right back since Carvajal won’t be available to play. The Moroccan has made only three league appearances this year and will be expected to show his skills on Saturday.

Nacho and Vallejo are second choices too for the French boss, but both are likely to play since Ramos and Varane are ruled out.

Marcelo, though, is a certainty and one of Real Madrid’s most valuable men.

  • Modric

  • Kovacic

  • Kroos

Mateo Kovacic is set to return, despite a modest appearance on Wednesday night, since Casemiro won’t be able to play.

Fortunately for Zidane, he will be surrounded by the fifth and 17th best players in the world – respectively Luka Modric and Tony Kroos – who are set to feature in the starting squad after resting against Borussia Dortmund.

  • Isco

  • Benzema

  • Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo was glowing with happiness on Thursday night as he overlooked Paris from the Tour Eiffel, his fifth Ballon d’Or in his hands.

The Portuguese star will be more motivated than ever as he will threaten Sevilla’s goal together with returner Karim Benzema and Isco, who provided an amazing assist for Borja Mayoral’s first goal against Dortmund.

Forgotten man Gareth Bale is still struggling with form and injury, and has recently been rumoured to be ready to depart from Madrid.

Twitter Reacts in Typical Style to Ronaldo’s Unsurprising Fifth Ballon d’Or Capture

As expected, Cristano Ronaldo has been named the best player in the world by France Football, who awarded the Portuguese star with his fifth Ballon d’Or on Thursday in an elegant ceremony at the Eiffel Tower in Paris.

The Real Madrid star has had quite a year, having led Los Blancos to the La Liga title last season, as well as their second successive Champions League triumph.

Ronaldo was named the Best FIFA Men’s Player of 2017 by FIFA back in October. And he has quite unsurprisingly captured his fifth Ballon d’Or, tying Lionel Messi despite the Argentinian’s previous 4-1 lead in the personal contest.

While Ronaldo’s achievement surprised literally no one, Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante was ranked at No.8, the highest among Premier League players, ahead of the likes of his teammate Eden Hazard, Harry Kane, Kevin de Bruyne, Coutinho and David de Gea.

Of course, that came as a bit of a shock to many.

And if you continue scrolling, you’ll find some of the best Twitter reactions to the evening’s events.
