Reports in Spain are suggesting the Spanish champions are readying a surprise move for Sergio Aguero to bolster their attacking options.
With the Argentinian striker not being indispensable at the Etihad, many suitors have registered an interest in signing the Manchester City man, with Real Madrid being the latest to consider a move.
According to Spanish publication Don Balon (via Sky Sports), Los Blancos are readying a £53m bid for Aguero, with Madrid’s current attacking options falling out of favour at the Bernabeu, with Gareth Bale stricken by injury and Karim Benzema and Cristiano Ronaldo uncharacteristically struggling in front of goal.
However, the transfer of Aguero would largely hinge on whether or not Alexis Sanchez joined from Arsenal, with the Chilean star angling for a move away from the Emirates.
Aguero has been in fine form for Manchester City so far this season, notching a total of 10 goals from 12 appearances so far this season, surpassing the long-standing record of Eric Brooks’ of highest all-time goalscorer for the Citizens.
Comparatively, Real Madrid’s famous BBC trio have 11 goals between them so far this campaign, reflecting a troubling lack of goals throughout the side.

Should Aguero make the switch to the Bernabeu in the summer it will bring about an end to a seven-year Manchester City career, during which he won two Premier League titles and two League Cups, cementing his legacy as a legend at the Manchester club.
