Media Watch: Blues linked to Ecuadorian midfielder, Scotland manager sees future with Gilmour and Gundogan backs Werner and Havertz

According to reports in Ecuador, Chelsea have joined the race to sign promising midfielder Moises Caicedo.

As reported in El Telegrafo, it is rumoured that the Blues have made an initial approach for the 19-year-old.

It was made clear by the Independiente del Valle general manager Santiago Morales that Caicedo could leave in January and there has been interest from European clubs.

The midfielder is valued at £4.5 million and was also previously linked with Manchester United which Morales denied.

‘There is much speculation with Caicedo, but we haven’t had any communication with Manchester United,’ he said.

It is reported that Ajax is the other club alongside the Blues that are interested in the midfielder.

‘There is another club interested in England and also a team in the European top five leagues,’ the general manager also said in a separate interview.

‘We have two strong teams from Europe interested in him, without reaching any agreement yet, but we hope their negotiations will be quick.’
