The defender has taken his chance well in recent weeks, featuring ahead of Marcos Alonso who started as first choice left wing-back under Tuchel.
Chilwell acknowledges the healthy competition for places at Chelsea and feels it is something that can only benefit the Blues going forward.
‘Competition for places is always high at Chelsea and I knew that when I signed for the club,’ Ben added.
‘Every position has two or three really strong players competing and that can only be good for the future of the club, having good players pushing one another to be better.
‘When you come into the side, you have to take your chance and prove you should be playing and that level of pressure can only be good for the team going forward.’
