With two wins, one draw and six losses so far this term, Everton currently sit second from bottom, having scored 11 goals and conceded 21. Myers will be looking to capitalise on a defence that have conceded two goals or more in seven of their nine league games.
Our development squad will be looking to open up the gap between their Merseyside foes to five points.
Dion Rankine’s thoughts
A player who has looked positive in recent weeks is Dion Rankine and he gave his thoughts on the lunchtime kick-off this Saturday.
‘We are all pumped up to win this game,’ he said. ‘We had a bit of a tough start to the season but we’re heading in the right direction. From a personal standpoint, I will be following the advice and instructions from the coaches to exploit the gaps and spaces that they [Everton] leave me.’
When asked about his transition from a winger to a wing-back, Rankine added: ‘I think it has been a natural change. I work a lot harder in this role for the team, focusing on fulfilling my defensive responsibilities and then also ensuring I support the team in attack.’
He added that ‘if there was one thing I would like to add to my game it would be more goals and assists.’
