Monaco Striker Kylian Mbappe Basically Trolls Every Football Fan in the World With One Tweet

Monaco striker Kylian Mbappe teased the football public on Twitter on Friday regarding his future, announcing he will be wearing Nike Mercurial boots next season.

The 18-year-old has been heavily linked with a move away from Leonardo Jardim’s side having impressed during Monaco’s Ligue 1 title-winning campaign last season, scoring 15 goals and contributing a further eight assists in 29 league appearances.

Mbappe seemed to be making an announcement about his future on Friday, only to reveal the type of footwear he would be wearing next season, not the club he could be joining.

He said: “Hello everyone, it’s me. As you know, in the past few days my name has been linked with a number of rumours and I think it’s important to clarify some information.

“I have thought a lot about the pros and cons of my future options and I have come to a decision. Next season I am going to play with … my Nike Mercurials!”

It seems we will have to wait and see whether the teenager moves on this summer, but the speculation regarding his future will certainly continue to make press headlines.

New Real Madrid Signing Dani Ceballos Has Mammoth Release Clause to Deter Barcelona Interest

Real Madrid obviously value their newest addition very, very highly. Astronomically highly even – as Dani Ceballos is understood to have had a mammoth release clause inserted into his contract.

The 20-year-old former Real Betis midfielder has shown every sign that he could turn into a very special player and those at the Bernabeu have sought to ensure no other club even thinks of luring Ceballos away.

After signing a six-year deal with Real Madrid, many at the club harbour the belief that he is set to become world-class and the €500m release clause, reported via AS, definitely proves to the 20-year-old how highly they value his talent.

The Spanish giants had long running interest in Ceballos, along with fierce rivals Barcelona and following his impressive performances for Spain at the Under-21 European Championships – where he was named player of the tournament – Real Madrid wrapped up the deal in a timely fashion.

They have now left no stone unturned in their bid to ensure no rival club makes a move for the midfielder in the next six-years, but only time will tell if Ceballos reaches the heights which many predict is ahead for the young starlet.

The midfielder made 30 La Liga appearances for Real Betis last season and following James Rodriguez’s departure the 20-year-old could force his way into Zinedine Zidane’s plans next season.

Kylain Mbappe’s Mother Reportedly Admits Where She Wants Her Son to Move to This Summer

Mother of Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe, Fayza Lamari, has reportedly spoken of where she wants her son to be playing his football next season – claiming that Real Madrid would be the best destination for the 18-year-old.

This time last year, very few people knew of Kylian Mbappe, and no one could’ve imagined the meteoric rise that the youngster would soon undergo. After scoring 26 goals for his club last season (six of which arrived in the Champions League), the biggest clubs around Europe are vying for his signature.

And now, according to France Football, Mbappe’s mum has gone on record saying that she thinks a switch to La Liga champions Real Madrid would be the best for her son.

She is believed to have been wooed by the efforts that they have made over in the Spanish capital to attract Mbappe to the Bernabeu – with both Madrid president Florentino Perez and manager Zinedine Zidane making personal appearances to try and persuade Mbappe to move.

While reports might be claiming that it’s looking more and more likely that Mbappe will stay with the Ligue 1 champions Monaco, a lot can happen between now and September, and players can be very easily influenced by those closest to them – so his mother’s opinion may well become quite an important one.

Zidane and co. over in Spain will be hoping that is the case, anyway.

Mbappe even came out the last week and claimed that he himself was unsure where his future lies. Either way, he still has plenty of time to make a decision.

Latest Revelation Shows Just How Close Alvaro Morata Thought He Was to His Manchester United Move

Alvaro Morata has seemingly dyed his hair red, as seen in his recent Instagram posts – showing just how certain the forward was to join Manchester United before being forgotten about by the Red Devils.

It all seemed set in stone. Morata to United was all but a done deal; only £6m stood between Madrid and Jose Mourinho in their valuation of the player and at one point the transfer was supposed to be done ‘within the week’ – subject to medical and all that malarkey.

A four-year contract was basically waiting on the table for him to sign and the 24-year-old Spaniard would become the replacement of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Juventus v Real Madrid - UEFA Champions League Final

Alas, it wasn’t to be.

Out of absolutely nowhere, United agreed upon a £75m deal with Everton to sign their star man Romelu Lukaku and the transfer was completed within mere days.

Just like that, Morata was a forgotten man, no longer needed at Old Trafford and after reports claimed that he had already told his teammates that he was on his way out of the Bernabeu, the forward was forced to return to pre-season with his tail between his legs, looking rather red-faced – with hair to match.

Indeed, Morata returned to training with the Spanish champions having dyed his hair red. According to Marca, this could well be because of his excitement at joining the Red Devils; the forward desperate to look the part as best he can ahead of his long awaited move to Manchester.

The saddest part of it all may be the fact that it’s simply now a red hue on his head from the striker undergoing a buzz-cut – most likely shaving off his neat trim after hearing the news that Mourinho had signed Lukaku.

Simply imagining what that scene would look like is heartbreaking.

Monaco Star Admits He ‘Does Not Know’ if He Will Stay Amid Arsenal & Real Madrid Speculation

Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe has claimed that he is unsure if he will stay with the French champions next season, with Real Madrid and Arsenal both said to be hot on his tail.

Mbappe soared to stardom in his breakthrough season in Ligue 1 – scoring 15 goals and registering eight assists despite only 17 starts (12 appearances from the bench).

His name then became a massive hit around Europe too after some dazzling performances in the Champions League last season, scoring six goals in nine games, including against Manchester City, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus.

And now, after months of speculation surrounding what would be a world record fee for his transfer, Mbappe has finally gone on record about what he will do with his future.

Very briefly speaking to Spanish news outlet Marca, Mbappe did his best to avoid the topic of where his future lies, before finally admitting: “I do now know if I will stay.”

The Frenchman was signing autographs for fans ahead of training with the rest of his Monaco teammates – fittingly in isolation up in Saillon, the Swiss Alps, near Lake Geneva.

At this point in time, moves for the 18-year-old look to be dependant on other occurrences. Though Arsenal were said to be keen on bringing Mbappe to the Premier League, after signing Alexandre Lacazette, it would seem unlikely that the north London club would make a move for him at this point.

In regards to Real Madrid, many would assume that Los Blancos would only make a real effort to bring him to the club if Alvaro Morata were to leave the Santiago Bernabeu – which is looking more unlikely by the day.

Real Madrid Enact Clever Contract Ploy Ahead of Misfit’s Shock Bayern Munich Loan

Real Madrid cleverly extended James Rodriguez’s contract at the club before sanctioning a two-year loan spell at German giants Bayern Munich.

The Los Blancos misfit penned a 12-month contract extension, writes Spanish news publication Marca, to his current deal ahead of jetting off to Bavaria to link up with former Real boss Carlo Ancelotti once more at the Bundesliga champions.

Fans may have been wondering why such a ploy was needed, but Real have merely acted to cover their bases ahead of potentially losing James for a smaller fee upon his return to the Santiago Bernabeu.

FC Bayern Muenchen Unveils New Signing James Rodriguez

The 26-year-old would have entered the final 12 months of his contract when his loan spell with Bayern ends following the culmination of the 2018/19 season, and Real were at risk of being unable to negotiate a higher fee for his services as a result.

In a pre-emptive strike, the Spanish champions decided to add an additional year to James’ deal – a contract which will now run until the summer of 2020 – and give them the initiative in any potential transfer discussions with other interested parties upon the playmaker heading back to the Spanish capital.

All of this is unlikely to matter, however, if Bayern opt to invoke James’ €60m (£52.8m) purchase clause that is part of the deal to bring him to Germany at any point during his loan, but Real will have wanted to make the most of any situation in the event of Bayern deciding against making his move a permanent one.

Bayern are also set to pay James a reported €10m (£8.8m) a season – the Colombia international’s salary at Real – for the duration of his stay too.

James had been linked with a variety of top European sides including Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain before his shock switch to Germany on Tuesday.

Chelsea Close in on Signing of £28m-Rated Real Madrid Defender Despite Reported Juventus Interest

Chelsea are set to win the race for Real Madrid’s Danilo, beating Juventus to the Brazilian’s signature.

The Blues have endured a frustrating summer already this window – having Romelu Lukaku stolen from under their nose by Manchester United, and struggling to find another striker to bring in to Stamford Bridge.

The only high-profile signing the club have made so far is that of centre-half Antonio Rudiger from AS Roma for £29m, and manager Antonio Conte is said to be keen to kick on with transfers ahead of his side’s Premier League title defence.

Well now, according to Mirror, Chelsea are to step up their efforts in arrivals – and have beaten Juventus to the £28m signing of Real Madrid right back Danilo.

To make things worse for the Bianconeri, Chelsea are also believed to be stepping up their interest of Alex Sandro. Juve have been holding out for the Blues to give up – raising their asking price to £70m for the left back.

But with Conte now on a warpath in his determination to sign as many of his targets as possible, that may not be enough – especially with Sandro indicating that he wants to leave the Allianz Stadium.

As well as arrivals, the Italian boss is adamant that he keeps hold of his best players ahead of a tough season in the Champions League.

Cesar Azpilicueta has been linked with a move to Barcelona, the versatile defender can play on either flank as well as the right side of a central three – and is reportedly a top target for the Camp Nou outfit.

De Gea Won’t Force ‘Dream’ Move to Madrid as Mourinho Claims He’s Content With Current Understudy

Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea looks set to remain at the club this summer, as Real Madrid are yet to resurrect their interest in signing the player. The Spaniard’s move to the Bernabeu looked a certainty back in 2015, only for late paperwork issues to scupper the deal, so it comes with great surprise that those in the Real Madrid camp have not reignited the transfer.

The 26-year-old is reportedly keen on a move to Los Blancos, and would undoubtedly be interested in returning to familiar surroundings having began his career with Atletico Madrid as a 13-year-old. Despite this, the keeper is unlikely to force a move away from Old Trafford as United have insisted he is not for sale.

The Manchester Evening News stated: “United have always been pretty certain that he wouldn’t be sold, he’s one of their stars, he’s under contract, there’s no need to sell him

“The one thing about David is he’s not the type to push for a deal. There are players who would threaten to go on strike and say they weren’t going to play.”

Given the fact that Kiko Casilla is the only serious challenger to Costa Rican Keylor Navas’ number one jersey, Madrid may still decide to come back in for De Gea, who could command a world-record fee for a goalkeeper. According to Pilib de Brun, a radio host on NBCSports and talksport, Jose Mourinho is not overly distressed at the prospect of De Gea leaving, and would be content with Argentine Sergio Romero between the sticks with young Portuguese keeper Joel Pereira as his understudy.

In related news, United are expected to make progress in their attempts to sign Croatian Ivan Peresic from Inter Milan, and have stated their interest in Tottenham’s Eric Dier, with Spurs valuing the Englishman at around £50m.

If Ed Woodward were to pull of this double deal, it would take the Europa League winners’ summer spending into excess of £200m in addition to the captures of Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku from Benfica and Everton respectively.

Real Madrid Outcast Set for £28m Chelsea Switch After Blues Win Race for Defender

Chelsea appear to have won the race to sign Real Madrid outcast Danilo ahead of Juventus, according to the Daily Express.

The Premier League champions are reportedly closing in on the £28m capture of the right-back as they ramp up their transfer activity following a frustrating time in the market.

Danilo had been tipped to move to Turin and join Juventus after Los Blancos considered him to be surplus to requirements at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Chelsea, though, are now the favourites to land the 25-year-old’s signature and the news will be welcomed by first-team boss Antonio Conte, who has already missed out on two key targets in the current window.

Manchester United managed to poach Romelu Lukaku from under the Londoners’ noses, while Juventus themselves have offered Chelsea target Alex Sandro a new lucrative deal to prevent him from completing a £61m switch to Stamford Bridge.

Conte, however, has had the last laugh over his former side by scuppering their own move for Danilo, and will view the Brazil international as excellent competition in the wing back roles in his preferred 3-4-3 system.

Conte is keen to officially secure Danilo’s signature in time for Chelsea’s pre-season tour of Asia, which kicks off on Sunday, and if he manages to do so it will prove to be a terrific past week for the Italian in the market.

Antonio Rudiger has already jetted in from Roma for a reported £35m, while Monaco midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is set to undergo a medical on Friday ahead of a £40m move to England’s top flight.

Danilo has spent the past two seasons with Real following a big-money move from Porto, but he has only managed to turn out on 56 occasions for Zinedine Zidane’s team with the Frenchman preferring Dani Carvajal in the right sided full-back position.

The 16-times capped Brazil international will vie with Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso for a place in Conte’s starting lineup if he completes a switch from Spain’s capital in the coming days.

The 5 Teams That Hit the Woodwork the Most Last Season in Europe

Hitting the post or the bar can be extremely frustrating and the fans of the following five clubs know that more than most, with their respective sides leading Europe with the amount of times they struck the woodwork last season, as per Squawka.
However, there does seem to be a correlation between hitting the woodwork and having a successful season…

5. Real Madrid

Number of times they hit the woodwork last season: 22
With the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Toni Kroos in their side, it’s no wonder that Real Madrid consistently hit the woodwork (as well as the back of the net) last season with amount of attacking talent they possess. Despite the close misses, the La Liga giants romped to a league and Champions League double.

4. Roma

Number of times they hit the woodwork last season: 22
The Serie A runners-up were one of the most-trigger happy teams in Italy last season and ended up with the second most amount of goals scored, even outscoring champions Juventus. The team from the capital had a lethal attack consisting of the likes of Edin Dzeko and Mohamed Salah, both of whom were eager to shoot at any opportunity.

3. Tottenham Hotspur

Number of times they hit the woodwork last season: 22
Spurs narrowly missed out on the title last season, succumbing to the ever-consistent Chelsea who emerged as Premier League winners. Had Mauricio Pochettino’s side seen some of their 22 efforts which hit the frame of the goal, nestle in the back of the net instead, it could have been a different story for the North London club.

2. Barcelona

Number of times they hit the woodwork last season: 24
With arguably the best attack in world football, it is not that surprising that Barcelona feature on this list as the triumvirate of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar naturally shoot whenever possible. According to the Catalan club’s high standards it was a below-par season, they nonetheless picked up the Copa del Rey.

1. Bayern Munich

Number of times they hit the woodwork last season: 28
Leading the quintet is Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, who, in addition to striking the woodwork 28 times in the league last year, scored a total of 89 goals, seventeen more than anyone else in the league. Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti is unlikely to be too concerned with this number…
